The philosophy and the basic pedagogical idea for a Sunneburg playgroup child
Playing and experiencing different materials, the different rooms from inside and outside as well as experiencing in a group is our guide for the morning.
A familiar rhythm, a colourful, child-friendly environment and the relationship to nature form the basis for individual experiences, large-scale impressions as well as experimentation and getting to know each other in our playgroup.
Various rituals in the course of the morning give support and create trust. In a small group, the child is allowed to feel like a "member of the group", which encourages "being able to assert themselves, help, share and listen to each other".
Relationships, solving conflicts and finding one's own role in the group are the foundation stones for social life. We offer space and time for this, support where it needs support. The child learns to recognise and understand its own feelings.
,,Doing'' is the focus of all activities and not the ,,end result'' of e.g. handicraft products. In our playgroup we play, work with different materials, sing the first circle songs, paint, glue, experiment, experience nature, deal with small topics if desired by the children and tell stories.
We have basic ideas for the morning, but leave the children free to choose what activities they want to do. Clear boundaries are given, if necessary and as few rules as possible. However, rules that are necessary for a loving relationship are always discussed with the children in a circle. In our playgroup we are a whole and pay attention to each individual's actions in a balanced way.
Our goal is....
..... to feel welcome and secure ..... to meet each other lovingly and appreciatively ..... to be allowed to move individually and be part of the group ..... plenty of time and space ..... form first friendships for life, because friendship leaves behind sunny traces in our memory.
